Asian Jasmine (Trachelospermum asiaticum) is a tough, fast-growing ground cover known for its dense, glossy green foliage that creates a lush carpet-like effect in landscapes.  Asian Jasmine has the ability to suppress weeds effectively, making it a popular choice for low-maintenance landscapes and areas where erosion control is needed.

In southern Louisiana, Asian Jasmine typically grows to a height of 6 to 12 inches with a spread of 2 to 3 feet or more, quickly covering large areas. It thrives in partial shade to full sun, adapting well to different light conditions but growing most vigorously with some sunlight. This plant is highly tolerant of heat and humidity and can withstand temperatures as low as 10°F.  Asian Jasmine is a reliable evergreen ground cover that stays vibrant throughout the year, even during milder winters.
