In southern Louisiana, pansies typically grow to a height of 6 to 9 inches with a spread of 8 to 12 inches. They thrive in full sun to partial shade and prefer cooler temperatures. Pansies are cold-tolerant and can withstand light frosts, making them ideal for USDA zones 7-10. They require regular watering, keeping the soil evenly moist but well-drained, especially during warmer periods to encourage continuous blooming.
