The Freefall Pansy is a trailing variety known for its profusion of bright, cheerful blooms in a wide range of colors, perfect for hanging baskets and containers. An interesting characteristic of the Freefall Pansy is its ability to trail gracefully, creating a cascading effect that adds vibrant color to garden spaces throughout the cooler months.
In southern Louisiana, the Freefall Pansy typically grows to a height of 6 to 8 inches with a spread of 12 to 18 inches. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and can handle the cooler winter temperatures in USDA zones 7-10. Freefall pansies are frost-tolerant, making them ideal for fall and winter gardens. They prefer consistently moist, well-drained soil and benefit from regular watering, especially during dry periods, but avoid waterlogging to prevent root rot.
