The Viola Sorbet XP is a compact, cold-tolerant plant known for its abundance of small, cheerful blooms in a variety of vibrant colors. An interesting characteristic of the Sorbet XP series is its exceptional heat tolerance for a viola, allowing it to perform well in both cooler and warmer seasons, extending its blooming period.
In southern Louisiana, Sorbet XP violas typically grow to a height of 6 to 8 inches with a spread of 8 to 10 inches, forming a low, mounded shape. They thrive in full to partial sun and can handle mild frost, making them ideal for USDA zones 7-11. Sorbet XP violas prefer consistently moist, well-drained soil, so regular watering is needed, especially during dry spells, but avoid waterlogging to prevent root issues.
